HOW DOES BURKE CAST IRON RESTORATION WORK?
Restoration Process
All cast iron pieces will be assessed to determine what level of care is required to get the piece ready for everyday use.
If required, the piece will undergo an e-tank treatment, which entails being submerged in a tank of electrolyte water and receiving a steady current of electricity. This is a safe and gentle way to remove rust and debris, stripping the item down before re-applying a new seasoning.
Once the cast iron has been prepared for seasoning, it will receive multiple layers of new seasoning using vegetarian and vegan-friendly avocado oil.
Local Pickup & Delivery
Clients located within 25 miles of Lexington, Kentucky can schedule a complimentary pick-up and drop-off of any items needing restoration.
Service Guarantee
All restoration and cleaning services come with a satisfaction guarantee. We will discuss expectations upon beginning the project, and if any items are returned unsatisfactory to those expectations, I will personally make sure any needs are addressed.
Repairs
Cast iron, in certain situations, can be repaired. If an item is cracked or broken, I’ll consult with a local trained welder to see if the item can be repaired before beginning the restoration process. All costs associated with outside repair services will be discussed with the client before any steps are taken.
